MEETING INFORMATION

Monday, September 13, 2010 18:00 at Sideways, 21st Floor, Keith Building, 1621 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, OH

Join us on Monday, September 13 for free pizza and a presentation by Jonathan Penn covering Ruby on the Mac.

"Ruby has made quite a splash recently. It's not a new language, but it's popularity grows as the Ruby community creates effective conventions from the amazingly flexible syntax. Best known for Rails, the rapid development web framework, Ruby caught the eye of Apple and they now actively support the open source MacRuby project."

"Under the hood, our beloved Objective C shares a lot in common with MacRuby. We'll explore these similarities and we'll learn a bit about how it interacts with Cocoa. We'll also get a taste of the flexibility by looking at some patterns and conventions that have emerged (as well as some pitfalls) and how they might translate to the Cocoa environment."

Please plan on joining other like-minded CocoaHeads for this presentation, and free pizza on Monday September 13. Pizza and drinks begin at 6:00, the meeting starts at 6:30. As in the past, the meeting is sponsored by Sideways.
